TRAINING IN THE AURA-SOMA COLOUR CARE SYSTEM©

With

Eilish Kelly

Note: All the levels of the training are part of a personal unfolding journey through colour and can be undertaken without any intention to become a practitioner of Aura-Soma.

These courses are certified by ASIACT in the U.K, which is an educational trust dedicated to colour and research in colour. ASIACT has its own training premises in Lincolnshire, runs a worldwide network of training services to teachers and practitioners of Aura-Soma and contributes to international seminars on colour. It also has both an extensive in-house programme of courses related to Aura-Soma and conducts a similar visiting programme internationally. There is an annual congress (usually in some place like Thailand or Mexico) and an annual trip to places of interest (such as Hawaii or Peru etc). It has a training website (www.asiact.org) and a product website (www.aura-soma.net), a practitioner newsletter and quarterly magazine.

Aura-Soma Ireland has a national distributor, a network of practitioners & teachers, a website (www.aura-soma-ireland.com), regular training and colour courses and practice opportunities.

I provide a half day (afternoon or evening) basic introduction to the Aura-Soma Colour-Care System. I also provide all levels of professional training. BECOMING AN AURA-SOMA PRACTITIONER OR CONSULTANT

Practitioner training in the Aura-Soma Colour-Care System is in 5 parts

Level 1 (The Foundation) is a 36 hour basic introduction to colour generally and Aura-Soma specifically.

Level 2 (The Intermediate), also 36 hours, relates Aura-Soma to other systems, both ancient and modern. Students begin to practice, in a limited way, after this level.

The Personal Presentations Skills course is 18 hours and relates to giving public talks and workshops in Aura-Soma.

Level 3 (Advanced) introduces colour with increasing complexity, relating the Aura-Soma Colour-Care System to the Tree of Life.

Level 4 is divided into 2 parts.

  1. Part A requires a minimum 36 hour attendance at either a recognized anatomy/physiology course, consultation skills course or a counselling course (unless this has been previously acquired elsewhere). It also consists of written answers to questions on colour.
  2. Part B is a piece of original written work/research on colour. It relates only to those who wish to train as teachers of Aura-Soma.

Students intending to be practitioners, between levels, have supervised study modules, written work and consultation records to write up. It is suggested that students commence practising to build up their skills, in a limited way, at any point after completing the first two levels of the Practitioner Training. This might be by way of exchange with other alternative practitioners, attending a local holistic or counselling centre, charging a minimum fee, or helping with a stand at a Mind, Body, Spirit event. They must register and agree to observe the standards and practices set out in the Aura-Soma Practitioner Guide. At this point they are recognised as a Registered Practitioner and are listed on ASIACT's Practitioner Register website. To become a fully qualified practitioner, known as a Registered Consultant, students are advised to complete the full training within 3 years of finishing level 1.

Practice sessions and internet support are available. To keep Practitioners up to date with the Aura-Soma Colour Colour Care System the Renewal Process has been created. The Renewal Process nurtures the development of Practitioner skills and may be seen as a continuing professional development programme (CPD).

CONSULTATION SKILLS with EILISH KELLY

An Accredited Aura-Soma Colour-Care-System© Consultation Skills Course. This is a renewal course and also meets the 36 hour level 4 requirement for Consultation Skills
I have worked for many years (in different contexts), lecturing, teaching, training and facilitating individuals and groups to develop communication skills which involve knowledge, intuition and creativity. I have also worked in private consultation practice as a Dream Analyst/Art Therapist for more than 15 years and Aura-Soma Practitioner for almost 10. As well as working with individuals, I work with groups of all kinds, some disadvantaged, using Equillibrium.   I also teach all levels of the ASIACT training and have an additional approved Renewal course in What Myth, Legend Or Fairytale Are You Living By?

I strive to be egalitarian so I find it gives me great satisfaction to share my experience, skills and know-how with students and to see them confidently progress from dependence through independence to interdependence.  In addition this kind of work keeps me on my toes and in touch with current events in the worlds of colour and of consultation.
THE COURSE INCLUDES:
Lectures
Creative Experiential Exercises
Practical Consultations
Peer Work
Working with Clients
Placement
Research
Assignments
Evaluation
The course is of 36 hours duration, spread over 6 months, one saturday a month, 11.00am - 6pm. It can also be delivered over 2 weekend modules.
Each session builds on the skills of the previous sessions. A workbook, handouts, evaluation sheets and photocopies of relevant articles are available. The course applies, as a norm, the underlying consultation principles within the Aura-Soma Colour-Care-System©. It also acknowledges key influences in contemporary soul therapy, psychotherapy, counselling, group analysis etc such as the work of C.G Jung, Carl Rogers, etc while keeping the focus on “person-centered” consultations.
The breaks between sessions are intended to permit time for study; allow participants to integrate information; apply what is being learned in practice with at least one voluntary client for the duration of the course
; work with peers; bring issues back to the sessions for examination; and allow participants to begin to build a practice by trying to have a placement in a holistic or other suitable centre if possible.

Extract from a Review by Olive Daly

I found the Consultation Skills Course very helpful in many ways. Part of the course involved finding a placement in a Counselling or Holistic Centre which would then refer clients. The course helped me to: Focus on the client and myself; Question; Relax and trust my intuition; Centre; Listen; Allow the client to tell their story, break down blind spots, see the bigger picture and seek the unexplored opportunities. In doing this I have also expanded my knowledge around the Equilibrium bottles.  My own skills and life developed during the course. It opened up my Aura-Soma life. I have gained more confidence in offering Aura – Soma. The course gave me a platform to launch myself from. I found the Consultation Skills course deep, informative, transformative, practical and down to earth.

Cost: The cost is 500.00eu, payable by instalment.
Availability: The course is available in Dublin and, by arrangement, in other parts of the country. Outside Ireland, it is available over 2 modules of 3 days each, with the modules separated by a number of months.

NEXT SET OF COURSE DATES COMMENCE in 2013 on the following dates: 23 Feb; 23 Mar; 20 April; 18 May; 15 June; 13 July
